A mini bike and a mini shelving unit / Una mini bici y una mini estantería

No he tenido demasiado tiempo este finde para dedicarlo a la floristería, pero me apetecía enseñaros un poquito de lo que he podido hacer.

I didn't have much time this weekend to work in the flowershop, but I want to show you just a little of what I've done.

Creo que la bici es de eurominis pero no estoy muy segura porque la compré hace mucho, de todos modos, no me gustaba demasiado, así que la pinté con esmalte de uñas rojo oscuro, le cambié el sillín poníendole fieltro con cola blanca para endurecerlo, en la cesta delantera simplemente puse cuerda verde enrollada y al final puse una goma elástica en el asiento de detrás que está ahí a la espera de que haga un cajón para tener algo que sujetar. Aquí podéis ver el resultado:
I think the bike is from eurominis but I'm not sure because I have it for a long time, anyway, it was all in black and I didn't like it so much, so I painted it with dark red nail polish, then I change the bike saddle, it's made of red felt and white glue to make it hard, I modified the basket with a green string and finaly I put a elastic band in the back seat that it's waiting for me to make a wooden box to hold. And that's the result:

Por cierto, me encantan los azulejos que están en la pared de la floristería, los encontré en una tienda de bricolaje en la sección baño.
By the way, I just love the tiles that you can see in the wall of the flowershop, I found them in a DIY store in the bathroom section.

También hice una pequeña estantería que pondré en un pequeño cuarto en la parte de detrás. Está hecha de madera de balsa, la pinté de verde y le puse un papel que me encantaba detrás.

En la parte de arriba puse diminutas conchitas que cogí en Andalucía y una caja, una maceta y una cesta de madera hechas por mí.

En la balda del medio hay un lápiz que también hice yo (con un palillo de los dientes) y el bote de las herramientas es el tapón de un dentífrico.

El resto de cosas son compradas.

I also made a shelving unit to put it in a small room in the back of the shop. It's made of balsa wood, I painted green and put a beautiful paper inside. 

In the top of the shelving unit it's a box, a pot and a basket that I made and tiny shells from Andalucía.

I did the pencil that's the middle shelf (with a toothpick), and the canister with tools is a toothpaste cap.

The rest it's all bought.

Interior de la floristería / Inside the flowershop

Tal y como prometí ayer, hoy voy a enseñaros el interior de la floristería.
Me lo he pasado genial dedicando mi tiempo y espero que os guste el resultado final... bueno, quizás no sea final del todo, ya que estoy trabajando intensamente en la fachada y la parte exterior de la floristería, así que quizá cambie alguna cosa.
Espero poder enseñaros algo del exterior prontito!

As I promised yesterday, I'm going to show you today the interior of the flowershop.

I really have a lot of fun spending my time in this and I hope you like the final result, or not so final because now I'm working very hard on the front and the exterior of the shop, and maybe I'll change something.

I hope I can show you something of the exterior very soon!

Reciclando: de botones a un broche / Recycling: from buttons to a brooch

Este finde no ha habido minis, pero si ha habido manualidades. Haciendo un poco de limpieza vi la caja donde guardo los botones, lentejuelas, hilos,... que vienen de recambio cuando compras ropa y que llevaba siglos solo abriéndola para meter más botones, pero nunca para hacer algo con ellos.
There hasn't been minis this weekend, but there has been crafts. I was cleaning up my room when I saw the box where I keep the buttons, sequins, threads,... that come as replacements when you buy clothes. It's been centuries that I only open the box to put more stuff in it, but never to do anything with them.

Así que pensé que podría utilizarlos en una camiseta o algo más pequeño (siempre pensando en cosas pequeñas...) como por ejemplo un broche.
So I though that maybe I could use in a t-shirt or something smaller (you know... always thinking of tiny things...) such a brooch!

Me puse a trabajar y al final hice un collar, unos pendientes y un broche a juego y otro broche más algo infantil que supongo regalaré pero aún no sé a quién.
I got to work and finally I did a necklace and a matching earrings and a brooch.

Reciclando: un fregadero para la floristería / Recycling: A sink for the Flowershop

Estuve escribiendo este post ayer pero algo le ocurría a mi conexión de internet y fui incapaz de subirlo. Ahora estoy en el trabajo así que ahí va! (espero que mi conexión haya vuelto cuando llegue a casa).

I wrote this post yesterday but something wrong happened to my conection and I couldn't publish it. Now I'm at work so here it goes! (I hope that I can connect when I arrive home today).

Esto es lo que he estado haciendo esta tarde, es un fregadero para la floristería:

La semana pasada encontré en un catálogo de zapatos del año pasado (nunca tiro nada) una imagen de flores que me gustó y pensé "flores... seguro que quedan bien en mi floristería", así que pensé y pensé dónde poner la imagen y eureka: puedo convertirla en azulejos y ponerlos en un fregadero!
Last week I found in a shoes catalog from last year (I never throw away anything) an image of flowers I liked and I though "flowers... that could look good in my Flowershop", so I though and though where to put the image and eureka: I can turn it into tiles and put them in a sink!

La mesa es de un coleccionable que compré hace más o menos un año porque era muy barata, así que la compré pensando que algún día encontraría un hueco donde ponerla.
The table is from a collectible that I bought about a year because it was very cheap, so I bought it hoping that someday I will find a place for it.

Tuve que cortar la mesa para para que encajasen la pila y la pared de azulejos.
I had to cut the table to fit the sink and the wall of tiles in it.

Pegué el papel con flores a un cartón y con la ayuda de una regla y un lápiz dibujé las lineas en el papel para hacer los azulejos.
I glued the paper into a piece of heavy cardstock and with the help of a ruler and a pencil I draw the lines on paper to make squared tiles.

Antes de cortar los pequeños azulejos barnicé el papel y lo dejé secar.
Before cutting the little tiles, I varnished the paper and let it dry.

Cuando estaba todo bien seco, corté los azulejos y los pegué encima de la mesa y encima de otro carton que serviría como pared donde poner el grifo.
When the paper was dry, I cut the tiles and glued them on top of the the table and into another heavy cardstock that will serve as a wall to put the tap.

Barnicé los azulejos con varniz y una gotita de betún de judea. Cuando los azulejos estaban secos, puse esmalte de uñas, para darle un acabado como de cristal esmerilado.
I varnished the tiles with varnish and a droplet of bitumen of judea. Finally, when the tiles were dry, I put nail polish to give it a pinhead glass-like finish.

First of all... happy birthday to me!

Hoy seré breve, estoy muy cansada, hoy es mi cumpleaños y no ha sido un día demasiado relajado, demadido estrés en el trabajo, pero quería dejaros otro avance más de la floristería antes de irme a la cama.
I will be brief today, I'm very tired, today is my birthday and it's not been a very relaxed day at work, I had a lot of stress at it, but I wanted to show you another preview of my work before going to bed.

Feliz lunes a todos!! Odio los lunes, pero no este lunes porque he cogido puente aprovechando que mañana es el Pilar, así que hoy ha sido un lunes inusualmente feliz.

Happy Monday to everyone!! I really hate mondays, but not this one, because I have the day off because tomorrow is the Spanish National Day and is holiday for everybody, so this monday was a unusually happy Monday.

Flowershop update!

The shop need a lot of work but you can see a few improvements since the last post (and I'm glad to say that I'm proud of the work I'm doing)

La tienda necesita todavía un montón de trabajo, pero ya se pueden ver mejoras desde el post anterior (y puedo decir que estoy orgullosa del trabajo que estoy haciendo)

First I painted the room interior in white, and then I covered the walls with a thick paper, then I put the baseboards and I painted them in white and varnish, and to finish with the walls I put the ceramic mosaics and the wood mouldings on top of these (also painted in white).

Primero pinté todo el interior de blanco, luego cubrí las paredes con un papel grueso y puse los rodapiés y los pinté de blanco y barniz, por último y para finalizar con las paredes, puse los mosaicos de cerámica y las molduras de madera encima de estos (también pintadas de blanco).

I covered the ceiling with the same paper of the walls, I put the moldings around it and finally I placed the lights (they are from Eurominis).

Cubrí el techo con el mismo papel que las paredes, puse las molduras alrededor y coloqué las luces (son de Eurominis).

In the floor, I put a real wood flooring sheet and then I painted it with red dye and varnish.
En el suelo, puse una hoja de madera real que teñí con colorante rojo y barnicé.

I bought the furniture in natural wood and I painted with red dye and then varnish, as I did with the floor.

Compré los muebles en madera natura y los pinté con colorante rojo y luego barnicé, al igual que hice con el suelo. 

I bought these paintings this summer in my trip to Portugal, they are tiles from a small shop of artisan ceramic situated in Evora, by the way is a small, pretty and charming village (worth visiting).

Compré estos cuadros este verano en mi viaje a Portugal, son azulejos de una pequeña tienda de cerámica artesanal de Évora, que por cierto es un pequeño pueblo muy bonito y con encanto (vale la pena visitarlo).

Mother's Day

My current project is a florist for my mother. I will try to finish it as soon as possible because this should have been the gift of Mother's Day, but unfortunately I have a lot of work lately and I could not finish it.

It has been 3 years since my last post, but it's never too late, so now that I have a new hobby, I decide to publish again.

My new hobby is the wonderful world of miniatures. I'm going (to try) to show you my little projects and I hope you enjoy my work :)

Hola a todos!

Han pasado ya tres años desde mi último post, pero nunca es tarde, así que ahora que tengo un nuevo hobby, he decidido volver a publicar. Mi nuevo hobby es el maravilloso mundo de las miniaturas. Voy a intentar mostraros mis pequeños proyectos, espero que los disfrutéis tanto como yo haciéndolos :)

Bueno... a dejar de hablar y manos a la obra!
